I have a 340 duster with the original u joints .Is there an upgrade to a stronger u joint or could someone possible have a part number.Auto parts stores seem to have a hard time looking them up.The differential is a 83/4 741 case 391 gears

If it is the smaller joints the 317 is a good choice as it has a zerk on the cap and is easy to grease. It crosses over to several numbers but Precision and Master Pro use that number.

If by some chance you have the larger joints the Spicer Part # 5-1309X should be it.

If you do use a u-joint with a grease fitting, try to install it so the fitting (weak area) is under compression when accelerating and not under tension.
