Here's a heads up for you guys on a great way to save some $$$$. With all the C4Cs heading into the recycle yards, most yards are pulling and selling the tires.
I've already picked up a several pairs, and 2 sets of 4 for some of my daily driver, or hardly used older cars.
Most of these tires I've bought are nearly new, pulled from the rims, most sizes are 15" and up. Occasionally 14"ers show up.
Price? I got a nice set of 4 215/65-15s with 80% treadwear left (tires made in 04 - by the DOT #). $50 for 4. Of course, I've got to mount and balance them myself...but who cares.
I also got a set of 195/75-14s for my 64 Fairlane; $50. They certainly are better than the 7.75-14s that were on it since 1970!
