My Grampa built a "BS grinder" which I still have. It's a square block with dovetails milled corner-to corner, and two short sliders in the dovetails, connected on a crank handle. The sliders cross back and forth, with the "output" hole in the center. Needs no batteries, lube, or any other maintenance.

i wonder if it has some lag time here and there to make you think you won, then it jumps out and hits the switch...hahaha
 
Nowadays, if you showed up at the airport with one of those, you'd probably spend hours being questioned.

Old guy that use to work with me had a round piece of wood with 2 it carved in the top. He lived to hear someone say they would do something when they got a round to it. Then he would hand it to them.
