V8 K-member with washer welded to front

I bought a V8 K member, with Kelsey Hayes brakes and other components years ago at Carlisle, just for the brakes to put in my 68 Barracuda that came with drums. I believe it came from a 70-72 Duster or Demon. I am now going to use it in another 68 Barracuda and noticed that there is what appears to be a washer welded to the front of it. Any significance since I have never seen that before.

here ya go. like davescuda said, consensus is that its a 340 only k frame.

also will have some u shaped pieces welded onto it around the lower control arm pivot points....the welds will resemble those of not so hot weldin kinda guy
