Hi guys...as some of you know i bought a solide project car a 70 fj5 4 speed 340 duster, disassambled the 340 good but need to be brought to a machine shop , i have a siamese 426 hemi gen 2 with aluminium heads , waiting for my long term 70 project but $$$$ buying a house next summer etc the 70 hemicuda tribute will take a while..so my 426 hemi is collecting dust and the duster is 10x more solid than my cuda shell , thinking of doing a steelies 426 powered duster , but im separated in 2 , putting the lil 340( match number ) back or putting the 426 hemi in the duster and enjoy it , what you guys would do ? Dont want to drive my cars only in the next 4-5 years

i would save the Hemi for the cuda.

the ease of installing the hemi in a bigger car with more room. sure they made hemi a bodies but with sooooooo many mods.

plus it is an original duster 340 which is a holy grail to many.

the cuda E body was practically made for the hemi.

First of all it sounds like the cuda is way off down the road project so HEMI the duster and have fun. Rebuild the 340 and when the cuda is done swap out the motors if you want. Just my 2 cents.

If you can buy (or build) headers that fit and don't require you to cut the sheet metal, then go with the hemi. If you have to cut sheet metal for headers I'd say pass and drop the 340 in it.

That's a tough one. Hemis don't come around a lot......unless you're loaded. I agree with YR's sentiments. If you can afford not to cut the car for the Hemi, do it.

Put the Hemi in the Duster.....these days you can do it with off the self pieces without any cutting. .....just $$$$ and a little Hot Rod 101

And get headers without cutting up the sheet metal? If so, I'd be down with the hemi. I'm just not a fan of cutting sheet metal.
