Put in a locally rebuilt 904 two winters ago in 65 Dart. I want to switch out valve body or put a transgo kit in this winter to get firmer shifts. Tranny vin is #4028814 looked it up and it's a 1978 W/lockup. Because it's a lock-up does that affect what valve body can go in? I see the TCI & Turbo Action ones in Summit, or the transgo 2 kits. Or doesn't it matter it just affects what torque converter you have to use?

Some valve bodies require you to modify your valve body by drilling holes leave out a ball bearing and so on.Had someone put one in for me and screwed it up.I ended up taking it out myself and getting a cheetah valve body that comes with a whole new valve body ready to put in.Cost more but i wish i had done it to start with

Don't be afraid of putting a shift kit in your valve body. Follow the instructions in the kit and you can't go wrong, and unless you're an experienced transmission builder don't vary from the instructions.
