Does anyone know what kind of spring seat pressure I can run on stock Magnum block hydraulic roller lifters? I was running 120# and the intake valves were kissing the pistons at full boost. According to some I should be running around 160# springs but don't know if the lifters can take it.

exactly how much valve to piston clearance is there? with only 8 psi, rough math tells me the boost is pushing on the valve about 22 pounds. go 155# and I think the lifters will have no problem

Plenty of clearance to spin above 6k rpm naturally aspirated with no problems. Add boost and things changed. I'm thinking of refreshing my lifters with Hughes 5007 performance lifter. Won't have to swap out push rods and they said it can handle 160# springs. Anybody have experience with these?
