Weight difference between aluminum and iron small block heads?

Hi guys, wondering how much lighter Edelbrocks, etc are vs iron heads. Looking to get some weight out of my front end and studying my options - Thanks for any input!

about 50 pounds for the pair...combine that with glass fenders, hood and bumpers

I saw a piece on Horsepower TV last weekend and they said for the difference is 27 lbs each for the LA engine.

The engine parts on this link are for a BB but the body parts eg. hood and fenders are good numbers.

When I got my Edelbrocks I weighed them. They were 27 1/2 lbs each. The iron heads I think were 65 lbs each.

When I removed my iron heads and replaced with edelbrocks the front of the car sprung up 2". I readjusted the torsion bars and had a wheel alignment done. Jayson

An after market K-member would be a big reduction in weight, a manual steering box and other parts already mentioned. If this is a street driven machine forget the suggestions made,what are your use intentions?
