I am going to need to replace tires on my 73 Dart. It has 205/70 R14's on 6" rims now. I want to stay 14" but am not finding alot to choose from in 14" tires anymore. I would like to use a more modern tire perhaps a T rated touring type. What is everybody running for 14" tires these days? There are more options if I go to 195/70 also but am not sure if I want smaller.

Have thought about BFG TA's one of the few in the size I am using now. Was even thinking about the traction TA in 195/70 to get a T Rated touring type, something more modern with better performance. I don" drive the Dart much in weather but need it to be ready as it serves as the back up vehicle sometimes.

Any thoughts on using 195/70's instead of 205/70's seem to be alot more choices. Not looking for widest just want good clearance, had also thought maybe 235/60 or 225/60 would clear with wheels I have.

195/70-14 is a small tire, even a bit smaller than a 185/75-14, so not a good choice in my opinion, 195/75-14 or 205/70-14 are the best choice for a 5 1/2" - 6" wide rim like the rally but you could use a 215/70-14 I am with no problem but I plan to replace them with 205/70-14, 185/75-14 or 195/75-14 would be the best choice for the 4 1/2" steel rim
here is a cool tire size calculator http://www.rimsntires.com/rt_specs.jsp
