What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Standing in the garage staring.
Not the most pristine engine bay, but I rack up miles 3-4 days a week. Little piece here, little piece there.
On a good day I'm pretty happy with it.

Driving the Duster to work today and tomorrow. Gonna be beautiful, in the 60s. both Saturday and Sunday...pretty unusual for Chicagoland area in February!!!.

Finished installing the subframe connectors and blasted the underside and engine bay areas. Looks good!

Its not working on my car, its still sleeping under its cover. However, I am in the process of rebuilding my Chrysler Sno Runner. Heres some of it, just after I put it away for the day.

I worked on my budget dash pad resto some last night and today.

Here's what the dash pad looked like.

The vinyl was very brittle so I peeled off as much as I could. Which left it like this.

I then cut out the split/deformed part of the foam.

Then yesterday I got these supplies at Walmart.

And last night I foamed up the big gap

I trimmed it down some today and I'll see about sanding it down tomorrow and get started on the fiberglass.

If anyone's interested I'll document the whole thing in a separate thread once it's all done.

Cleaned and blasted hood hinges.
Cleaned, primed and painted the ashtray assembly.

Took a few days but this is what the finished ash tray looks like.
Some leftover caliper paint and some SEM Trim Black.

I would like to see how you went about doing the repairs

Couldn't help myself, Feb 21 in MN, 60 degrees out, roads pretty clean, new ignition system. Took the Dart on about a 20 minute cruise, jumped on freeway then came back. Ran great, now there talking 12" snow Friday. Oh well it was fun while it lasted, now I'll wait for the real spring in a few more weeks. :)

Today I beadblasted my 67 stainless steel windshield wiper arms. They are like new and unobtaniam in the aftermarket without a donor car. Can't buy inserts for them through.

Finally started to putz around with my car. I pulled the wiper pivots out today, and installed the Schumacher kit. They were really stiff and moved hard, I got the majority of the old dry grease out. Then installed the grease fittings and put new grease in, boy do they move effortlessly now. I also realized that I never had the seals that meet the cowl on my old ones.. No wonder they leaked.. Good as new now!

discovered that the nice new fabricated valve covers needed some "adjusting" to fit - intake runners are in the way. The "white" areas in pics 3 & 4 are where I had to grind away material. Thankfully, you can't see it when they are on

Yesterday I put header heat wrap on my exhaust system from the start of the head pipe flange almost to the mufflers. Trying to keep the pipes, wires, starter & oil filter cooler in the engine bay and floorboards. Also trying to protect the wiring loom that runs to my GV overdrive. PIA but big win and glad to have it done.

I've been tearing down my recently acquired 5.9 Magnum. Getting it ready for a new pan and pick up. And an Edelbrock airgap manifold and carb.
