What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Started installing my Transgo shift kit, but Saturday I was playing the drums.
Swapping out the old clutches and steels from the direct and forward drums with new red eagle clutches and kolene steels. Also added 1 to the direct drum so it has 5 instead of 4.

When it's 113° in the shade... Not a whole lot this Old Man can do... But I did replace my old fram air filter with a nice K&N E-1120 ( 10 Inch OD diameter & 3 inch tall ) filter... While I was at it, put a Brand New "Commando 273" sticker on my Exposed Filter Chopped Top Lid... My very old sticker/tin was messed up when looked at close, & was held on with double sided tape as it was only temporary !!! (Really). Now if it would cool off, I could road "Test" the new purple ish filter !!! Note: My 65 Cuda can handle the ~Heat~ but, I can't :(

Thinking... I've done this mod before... On my 63... And others... But I was young then... Do I have the Energy to do my 65 'cuda? I know I want 15x8 in the rear.. (have 15x7 currently) I have the "itch" just not sure about the Energy... Thinking ??? Sigh~

Maybe you can squeeze the 15 x 8s in there without moving the spring with the proper backspace rims.

4 1/4" and 4 1/2" backspace seems pretty common on the 67 up Darts. Center the rear end as they can be off from side to side by 1/4".

Gonna be tight, but sure some of the guys on here will know what works and what does not work.

What tire are you going to want to run ??

My 8-3/4 rear end is off center... So I want to correct that... And set pinion 5° down angle like I did on my 63 ... Meaning I have to move it anyways... I have the off set hardware already... So... Why not use them... I know I want more tire, just have not decided yet on exact size... I currently have P225/60R15... Above is a picture of my 63... (Taken in the early 70's)

I had a friend come over the other night and weld a small patch into my drivers side floor pan....Did an amazing job and had one small minor hiccup. He somehow cur the wire going to my trans for my backup lights. I though I connected the wires correctly but my backup lights still didn't work when I was done so I'll be hopefully fixing the issue later since attempt one was not successful.

Found another part of the wire cut so I fixed it and have backup lights again.

Spent a few minutes polishing up some of the scabies on my back bumper with some Aluminum Foil and Coca Cola (as shown on YouTube). This actually works, and now my "40 footer" looks more like a "25 footer".

I never understood the allure of blacking out the grilles on these cars.

From far it looks like the grille is missing and is not very flattering to an old car with a sigma to the new generation of being a junk yard dog, out of place in a plastic world made in China.

Changed the intake, and valve cover gaskets on my 318 today.
Car runs alot better, will see how it does Monday in this Tucson weather!

Fit the new drop base from Mancinis with my new taller K & N filter and the flat lid. I have tons of hood clearance. I will probably run the stock setup for the street for now, and the open one for the track. With the drop base and the taller air filter, the stock setup looks and fits exactly the same.

Took the van and camper to an overnight van show called "Chariots Of The Gods" over the weekend. Always a great time!

Debating whether to sell it? Or long term storage it? I'm done with cars for a while.

I don't blame you for wanting to take a break from your car for a while. You went "All In" on that paint job. Now you got nothing left in the tank, Fabulous Paint job.

Body and Paint is exhausting, it's got to be so perfect or it shouts the flaws to the world.

Time to kick back, recharge your battery, spend some time with friends. Heal your sore Muscles and go for some walks.

Good breakfast, good sleep, sunshine. Give your mind some time to clear, build up your adrenaline again.

Tomorrow is a brand New Day . .
