73 Duster with 408, Mopar M1, Thermoquad 850, Edel heads, hyd roller 236/242 @ 0.050 .544 lift, FBO curved vaccum advance ignition, 727 with 4000 stall dynamic 9.5" converter into 3.73 Dana with 295/50 M/T ET slicks. I get a little over 14 @ 65 mph taching around 3300 rpm. In town it is closer to 9-10.

Everything else the same, I got 8 mpg hwy running a Holley 750 dp. a TQ is the way to go, short of EFI, IMHO.

WOW---what size carb? and cam?

The cam in my son's 440 is pretty close to stock magnum specs (or might be a stock magnum - I had one and it went into that motor or the 383 that was in my old Polara wagon). The carb is a stock 69 440 AVS. It's also an all-iron motor, including exhaust manifolds.

the tow truck gets 8gpm and the hotrod gets 16gpm or 4g in the 1/4.

ARE those fuel injected Holley (TBI) $1000 units any good vs a carb//// mileage and performance?
I enjoy all the pic's-thanks (Its on my to-do list to figure out how to post them. Tryed to before and it seems like learning how to change my Ring and Pinion will be easier)

'68 Dart GT Daily Driver - 383 (.060 over), Holley 750, Chet Herbert 280 Hyd Cam, Schumacher Tri-Ys, 727 with 2800 RPM TC, 3.91 Sure Grip

If I really baby the throttle, I get 18+ MPG....otherwise, it dips into the low teens..

'71 swinger
tired '71 318 out of a b body wagon
holly 650 DP 68's on the primarys with 71's on the secondarys and a 6.5? power valve? (can't remember right now, picked up 3-4mpg by down jetting a bit from the 71H I had in the primarys)
edelbrock performer intake
hooker headers
OD 4spd
3.55 SG 8 3/4
235 60 14s
2.5in duals all the way back

With the tired 318 I figure on road trips over mountain passes and what not I am pulling about 18.5 mpg, around town 15ish and I never drive her easy either!

I am building a '78 Aspen Super Coupe right now and am going to rebuild the 318 (maybe add magnum heads for better combustion characteristics, and most likely use a 600cfm holley on an edelbrock prefomer) from the dart and use the OD 4spd from the dart but use a 2.91 8 1/4 so hopefully I will be able to squeak up into the 22mpg on road trips. It will also have hooker headers and 2.5in duals. If I can pick up a wrecked jeep or something with the EFI I might try to put it on the Aspen and see what I cant do for MPG.
