Hi everybody.

This is a one in a million shot....The only people that can answer this question have to be old and have to had lived in the Okanagan.. Kelowna would be best in the 70s and 80s. Does anyone know the name of this Speed Shop? The address was 1671 Powick road Kelowna BC. This picture was taken probably 1980 or 1981 with my crappy little Keystone. You can see just a little bit of the sign. Maybe something like "Performance Center".??? It's really stupid but it's bugged the hell out of me for years. No one I know can remember the name of it...Typical!!! Just one of them things :BangHead:

Let me move this to "lost and found". You might get more action there. Good luck.

The first thought that came to me was ''Boomer's Performance Center''.
They had one in Cranbrook, B.C., and it had a kangaroo as the mascot on the sign.
Another possibility could be P.A.W., but I thought that it was in Prince George.
They might have had both of them there in the '80s though, the Okanagan had a lot of muscle cars back then.........
The time frame does line up for both of these stores, Richie.

My question is. What became of the Dart and the Duster in that picture?

I have a sad:) ...story about that car. It was for sale, with a 440 in it. My friend Bruce was going to give the guy $2500 and his 1974 Honda Elsinore for it and the guy said sure but Bruce had to go down to California to THINK about it. Wasn't there to buy when he got home. That car is the reason I painted mine F6. I don't have any info on the Duster, I was starting to get the 67 - 69 Dart sickness bad back then and didn't pay much attention to anything else. No Bruce can't remember the name of the place either:lol:

Another one would be Valley Speed and Marine.
My brother bought a '71 Duster with a 440 in it that the conversion was done there in the early '80s.
It was orange with a black hood and Cragar SS wheels on it if you remember the car from back then running around your area.
Not a very good job though...........

My guess would be Cal-Van but I think their shops were only in the Lower Mainland?

They ended up in my yard after the drunk hockey players crashed them.
I traded them for a Pinto, a case of Kokanee, and a bag of pucks.........

No No No .... A case of Labatts and a bag of pucks !

Got to get your hockey beer right… LOL
I thought i would stump you guys on the Kokanee thing!
At the time, Kokanee was made only in B.C. and sold only in B.C.
Actually, it is made in Creston, B.C. by The Columbia Brewing Company about 70 miles from where I grew up and was THE beer out there.........

No rear plate and open headers, bada$$

After googling that address ,is the F M automotive store still there at that address? They list a phone number, maybe they may know the name of the old shop.

Yes it was a racer, I'm pretty sure
I noticed in the other pic of it that it has a plate on the front. I know a few guys from way back in the NJ 70's would alter or remove the rear plate on a night of hell raising because most of the police would be behind them unless it was NJSP with a 440.. lol
