hey guys

it appears some dummy pulled the front of my 360 apart and said "eh, ill remember what goes where"
now im about reat to put her back together but I have a handful of brackets (getting ready to get painted) for the alternator and powersteering that im not sure how exactly they bolt up

a few pics would be great

and while im on the subject, the 360 came out of a motorhome and its AC compressor looks nothing like the ones used on A bodies so I junked it

I presume I will need A body specific brackets for that?

(and will the alternator bracket still work)

thanks guys

You need pictures.
I have a few for 318 but they are pretty close.

Pretty sure I saw a factory AC comp bracket here recently where someone was asking what they were.
I'll see if I can remember or find it for you.

Pretty sure the only real difference was the RV had some double pullys because of extra loads, but the brackets were the same.

Thanks
I want to say I saw the post you mentioned and actually replied to it yesterday

Power steering bracket bolts to the timing chain cover with 2 bolts.
I can get a pic in the morning.

Are you running AC?
If no AC I can take a pic of everything you need.

Here's a link to the Bouchellon Performance site with alternator brackets. I loike their kits a little better than the Mancini Racing one because it comes with more mounting bolts.

thanks for all the replies guys :)

Gettin old I guess, what post?

it as called "mystery brackets" I send him a PM last night asking if he was willing to part with them

Here's some pictures of my son's 91 360 that we put together for his 71 Valiant. It has the 70 and later alt brackets on it for non-a/c.

that is a great looking motor
I have those same brackets (it looks like) but my 360 did come with A/C
but like I mentioned, its an RV motor and the A/C is different so I guess those alternator brackets wont work for me?

that would be great, im not ready to bolt her together this weekend so no ruch but at some point I would like to know (would like to only tighten each bolt once)

thanks :)

ill see what the budget allows for

now, I have the powersteering brackets
are those the same with A/C non A/C set up?

I don't think that the p/s brackets are affected if you have a/c or not. :)

The alt brackets and pulley make a difference. With a/c you need a double groove pulley on the alt and water pump. The a/c uses two belts that go from crank-alt-water pump.

The non a/c set up uses a single groove alt and water pump pulleys.

If you mix and match, they won't line up correctly.... :banghead:

This is the bracket for the power steering.

ill have to see what I have
it almost seems like a miss match, the alternator brackets on my 360 look like the non A/C style but there was a sort of a AC compressor on there
it looks like my powersteering brackets are the same as yours
im pretty sure I only have a single pulley on the water pump

sireland, is your belt on backwards?
I thought the cogs always go on the inside?

It depends on what side of the belt that they put the cogs on. If the cogs are on the "v" section, then they go down. If they are on the flat section, then they go on the outside.

It depends on if the belt has Cogswell Cogs or Spacely Sprockets.... :D

His cogs are on the flat side, so they go on the outside.... He's good....
