Real LM23P9B 1969 Dart Swinger. Motor is built by a well known engine builder up here. Motor is a 408 CI stroker with Forged stroker crank, forged rods, KB pisons, big cam, eddy ported 63 CC aluminum heads, crane roller rockers, air gap intake, 850 carb, etc. The motor made 500 Horsepower and 520 lbs of torque (torque was made early and down low).

Tranny is an a833 4 speed with a McLeod clutch all connecting back to an 8 3/4 rear end that has been narrowed roughly 6 inches a side and houses a 4.10 gear with posi. The axles are aftermarket axles that have been cut to length (professionally).

The body of the car was done by us (licensed body man for 30+ years). The unibody has gone by the way side and been made into a full custom frame from the front of the rad support to the back deck of the car. Torque blocks were added all throughout the car (roughly 8 torque blocks on the car) to ensure no twisting.

The car has 4 piston discs in the front. a 26x5.5x15 Mickey Thompson sportsman SR2 wraps the front Centerline Qualifier Rims and a 29x13.5x15 M/T drag radial on the back. The car has coil-over shocks on the rear of the car and a 90/10 shock on the front. The interior is BRAND NEW. Every piece is brand new on the interior (carpet, seats, dash pad, headliner, windows, door panels, package trey, etc.) Brand new pistol grip shifter and Racequip Racing harnesses (no roll bars whatsoever). The original wiring is gone and replaced with a Ron Francis Mopar Kit that eliminates the bulk head connector. The exhaust is a custom made 3 inch kit that is connected to a set of ceramic coated and polished equal length headers. All exterior trim is brand new (brake lenses, tail light bezels, bumpers, drip rails, door handles, head light rings, marker lights, marker light housings, hood lip trim, louvers and call outs (call outs read 408 stroker instead of 340 4 barrel), etc. In short terms, every piece on the car is brand new and no old parts were reused. The car is near completion, so what is it worth when completed? Thanks FABO.

id say in the market here in California you car would price at high Teens low 20's . . . just a guess. Nice car!

couldn't imagine being that close to done and selling. id say a solid 20,000
 
Prices vary between Canada/USA,even just a stroker engine/body paint would mean thousands in different prices between the 2 countries.JMO. Oh when complete you will need an appraisal for insurance(Silver Wheels is now Haggerty)The appraisal will give you an idea what it's worth.
 
Not asking what its worth now, asking what it will be worth done. I think 20's is very low for what the car is. This picture was about a month ago, car is fully dressed, glass all in, interior put back in, all that's left to do is install the new RF wiring kit.
 
When you get to the $30k mark with A-body's you're getting into a pretty small market. Most of those cars are going to be all-numbers matching factory restored rare-option/low production number cars. Lately, the custom cars that are getting above that mark are pro-touring, not drag racing.

Seems to me you have a car that's been heavily modified for drag racing, but isn't a full-on race car. But it's been modified to the point where it's going to be a serious handful as a weekend cruiser. And it's too modified to easily go back to something that could look factory. What I'm saying is, you're in a pretty small niche.

Don't get me wrong, it looks like a really nice, well done car. But I think you're going to be fighting the market if you want to get much more than $30k out of it, unless you find a guy that has exactly the same thing in mind as you do.
 
i'm going to stick to my guns- high teens low to mid 20's

and this is based of course on both market and in comparison to what other "more" desired mopars are going for... the charger, 70's cuda, challenger and the road runner. to put it quite simply the 69' Dart just isn't up there YET unless like 72blunblu said its a rare numbers matching car or its something built specifically for someone buying it or someone looking for exactly "THAT"
 
Different areas will have different prices.

Southwest, Midwest, east coast, and eastern Canada each seem to be a little different and increasingly more expensive in that order.

I know a guy that was/is buying $1000-$2000 68-73 Chevy Nova's from So Cal, paying $1000 transportation to Canada, then selling these project shells for a 50-100% profit. He said Canadians were just looking for solid shell starting points to make pro mod, pro touring, whatever type street modified type cars. Sounds very similar to what this 69 Swinger is now.

Yes, I agree in So Cal that's a low 20's car from a private seller. At a local classic car broker, they might snag a well healed buyer for much more money.
 
Nice car. I'm with BIG-B-Barracuda, though. Small market for a car that modified.
 
I'd say $25 k or so. You couldn't build it for that. Agreed it's kind of a narrow market for a higher end hot rod like yours but the kind of guy that would buy this car has the money to buy and not the know how to build. Tmm
 
It's worth less than what you could build it for more than likely. But I'm with others. If you start getting into the 20's, guys usually will only pay that for matching numbers full resto cars. I'd be lucky to get $20K out of mine and there's definitely more than that in it, but it's not as nice as yours either. But there's a guy out there that will know what's in it, it's built the way he'd do it, and he'll fork over the cash. You're probably going to have to be patient to find that guy though.

If you were building a car to make a profit on, you did it all wrong. Car had 0 rust to begin with, just the stock unibody is a turn off to me as even a stock 340 can twist the body slightly, it is an awful frame design. If im going to do it right, do it properly and to the 9's

That's just your opinion, and you ask whats the car worth, not weather or not you can build a better frame. You did a lot of work to fix something that wasn't broken. Now that's just MY opinion. And there were leaf spring unibody cars running in the 9s back when these cars were new, just sayin.
 
Not everybody is into #,s matching cars(basically cause they really don,t know what it means LOL)You,ve improved the car in every aspect,even with frame connectors:D.Yes there is a market for modified cars.JMO. Oh and Repla43,When he said doing it to the 9,s I believe he meant doing it up nice,not for 9 seconds.
 
But, now it does look like a nice car, not saying that its not!
