What's Your Favorite Xmas Song?

-
Strange how the governments (US and Canada) don't want to offend immigrants and drop the word Christmas, instead using the words Holiday Season or Festive Season. I know of a person who had a Christmas tree in their cubicle at work. They had to remove it when someone complained about it. Well what about the rest of us who are offended when our traditions get trampled on? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! Sorry for getting political in a good thread.

Back to music!

wow... Stryper.... Its been a while since I have heard them. Lol.... I went to a few of there concerts. Michael Sweet did a stint fill in for the Tribute for Boston lead singer. ...... man the old hair bands were crazy cool.

So, believe it or not, if you look at the history and traditions of the church to replace Christ with an "X" you are actually referring to Christ anyway! So let the politically correct out there beware this year! You have now been educated so that you may educate them and let them know that they truly aren't as politically correct as they think! :-D

I just want to wish you and yours a Happy X-giving next week.
Peace :angel7:

The history of "X" in the church is a good one in this discussion. Because of the Roman persecution of the early church, the church would often refer to Christ as "X" so as to escape notice from those who would persecute them. So, believe it or not, if you look at the history and traditions of the church to replace Christ with an "X" you are actually referring to Christ anyway!

I was lucky enough to visit the ruins of Ephesus, Turkey, and saw the "X" carved into the stone walkways (actually the "X" had other lines superimposed onto it so it ended up looking like a circle with pie slices.) It was a secret signal to Christians to let them know other Christians had been there.

Mary lived out the rest of her years a few miles from that city.

I'm not a religious person, just try to follow the golden rule, which I believe was Christ's message. Some days I do better than others....

"Mary, did you know?" is indeed a beautiful Christmas song. My favorites though are all the songs from 'The Grinch' TV special.

Don't you mean that you try to follow X's message? It's all the same right? Interchangeable, according to history.
Please, everyone just lighten up. I'm not all that religious and I don't really care. It's just that Xmas looks funny to me. That's all. Geesh. I'm being persecuted like a Roman.
Ha ha!
Peace out! :)

I'm not saying that X-mas doesn't look funny. To me it's just funny that those who are unaware of the history of the church are actually following along with the early church and don't know it. It's all incredibly ironic to me. That being said here's a good song for you.
