Which cold air system is better?

I am debating on which cold air system to run.

Which is better...?

An enclosed 14" air cleaner with dual 4" tubing ran to the front...

Or

A plenum with dual 4" tubing ran to the front and dome cone air filters at the ends?



I like the idea of the plenum because it will give me more hood clearance and i have a 1" spacer under my 1406.

Im not sure i want to cut into my cowl.

Whichever option gets the actual air intake OUT of the engine compartment is the better choice.

I am just curious if i will lose the ram air effect (power) if i go the second route.

I would run the enclosed air filter with ducts going up to the front. I would think that exposed air filters mounted up front (under the bumper?} would get filthy in short order.
