any one know what the white plastic washer holders for the steering column are called and where i could get them?

the hold the column part that cradles the actual column. there are two of them possibly three.

is square looking with two notches

Had I seen this last week, I would have given you mine. I just threw them in the trash....

Well score a big ol' 0 zero for me!
that is terribly nice of you but terribly bad for me - my timing is always off.

Before I chucked all that in the trash I pulled the studs out of the column support (they came out with the nuts) and I used bolts with washers to hold the column. It's a little tricky, slide the fender washers in between the gap then slide the bolt up and tighten it.
Put the cover on and no one's the wiser.
I think I used 3 washers in the gap where the plastic was

Just get thick plastic washers at the hardware store. They have them at ACE hardware. I'm sure they have them at the hardware section at Home Depot or Lowes too.

They were designed to allow the column to collapse in the event of a crash
