Will buffing cause stripe damage?

Will buffing the paint and going over the stripes change the flat finish on the Duster 340 stripes? Not wanting too change the flat appearance. Thanks.

I would protect the stripes with paper & painters tape before buffing...

What he said about the blue painters tape. I use it all the time to protect stripes. And, yes, polish and, or, wax will damage the stripe's surface.

I always tape the stripes and buff as close as possible with the buffer, then hand polish next to the tape.
