3m friction tape
are you guy's who recommend that tape really using it?

because this ^^^^ 3m friction tape is what i use at work and it would be horrible for a wiring harness...everything sticks to it, especially when it gets warm

most wiring harness tape i've seen and used is like this...

3/4" electrical tape without the adhesive. or is this what your calling friction tape?

Vinyl tape WITHOUT adhesive, tightly wound like your favorite 340.

Year one sells the original style tape. The P/N is HWRAP.

Yeap that's we use it for when splicing heavy wire with a split connector wrap it with electrical tape sticky side out then friction tape then electrical tape sticky side in if you want to take it apart it's not all gooey.None of this is meant for automotive wiring

As mentioned, non-sticky vinyl tape to stay original. If rewiring the whole engine bay, and you don't care to be original, I used smooth PVC from SPC Technology. I bought several sized rolls off ebay. That is factory in my 80's Mercedes's. At junctions, I wrap w/ self-fusing silicone tape. Others use split loom. It is bulkier and harder to clean gunk off, but the only option if connectors are already on (other than tape).
