I found this car here (Valiantsurf) when I was looking for a set of fenders for my Signet. He was going to part it out so we swapped emails back and forth with pics and the fenders were NOS quality so I asked what the rest of the car looked like and he said rust free and straight so being the Valiant guy that I am bought it to keep it from being cut up for parts. It's a 67 Valiant 100 /6,auto,radio delete, manual mirrors with a/c and that was the only option it was ordered with and it is #81 off the assy line. He was going to make a drag car out of it with a BB and had already welded in the inboard spring kit into the frames and 1 frame tie in. It is pretty much a clean bare shell with no interior. I scored an a body dana 60 off CL,some springs, hangers at the Indy swap and I located a manual steering box and column. I have quite a stock of nice 67 grills, tail lights and other exterior chrome. I also picked up a 318/904 drivetrain from another member with some nice LA decor stuff and acc's I will need if I go small block.

I am thinking early 90's LA roller 360 block (need to locate core) with an A999 trans and the Dana with the top end TBD, I picked this one up because I can mod it how I want which I can't do to my Signet. I like the balance of a small block car and don't really want a nose heavy car and there is a butt load of aftermarket parts for LA motors still. I just got some pics from Surf telling me that the car is rolling and about ready for transport from CA to Chicago. I have no clue how quick this project will go since I am still working on the Signet's body so I will update as I go along. If I can get my Signet painted before this one comes home I will have this one in my garage at the house (1 car) and the Signet at my storage garage since it actually runs. I saw a fellow members' 67 Valiant that was painted satin black and I like it. It looks like a night stalker with minimal trim or I may go some sort of blue.

The first order of buisness with the 100 is blasting the shell
get it in primer
finish the back 1/2 of the inboard kit
get a suspension under it
gear change the dana from 4:88 to a streetable gear and add the inboard perches
widen the wheel wells
drill all of the clip holes for the 68-up front and rear trim
remove old drip rail sealer
change the blower motor opening to the non a/c style
and hopefully figure out the drivetrain combo with some of the parts I already have.

My mechanical parts stock so far is:
904
727
A999
MP valve covers,I do like stock 60's covers better
RPM Air Gap
MSD or factory electronic
small block pullies and alt brackets and acc's
Holley 3310
Holley 670
Holley street avenger 750
Demon 625 afb
drop base air cleaners for Carter and Holley
73-6 v8 k frame w/ sway bar and disc's
11 3/4 disc's
70-2 v8 a body radiator
488 dana 11x2.5 brakes
dana to 727 driveshaft,I have 3 others but unknown drivelines
shock plates
kyb rear shocks
TTI SB headers
340 windage tray no bolts
Manual steering box
floor shift column (ps)
column shift manual column
BP kickdown cable kit
trans mount
15x8 old school wheels and tires
VFN fiberglass hood,bolt on
6 pak scoop
That's all I can think of off the top of my head at the moment

That's what I was thinking and anything I do to it can only raise the value. The only rust repair he said needs done is a DS floor pan.

I forgot he sent me another pic :)

Nice, when do you expect to get it ? How easy is the shell to roll around on those castor frames. Can the shell be easily rolled in and out of the garage to work on it out doors ?
Luke

and all this time I thought you were doing research for YOUR car - all those hood questions and what-not.. bushwhacker! LOL - - that'll be very cool! looking forward to a build thread!

Dam that is in nice shape, way to good of a car to send to the crusher that's for sure.
I'm glad you're saving that one Sedanman. Will be watching your resto thread.

Working on transport now but Escondido seems to be a transport dead zone. It rolls real easy with the solid wheel casters and they have locks.

Lol,I'm always on the prowl for Valiants and if you whack the right bush they fall into your lap and they follow you home. The fiberglass hood and scoop I have will be going on this car. I can't bring myself to mod my Signet being a low production #. The transport seems to be an issue and So Cal seems to be a dead zone for transport.

the way you're going - maybe you should invest in a trailer too.. :poke: :D

This car came from CA on casters and It's kind of nice having a parts car in the driveway to rob everything from. I robbed the front suspension from it,added the 73-up k frame,v8 bars, rolling rear axle,a/c box assy, battery tray, horns, front grille set up,gas pedal,DS door hinges so the door opens, wiper motor, switched out the splash shield, added manual box, column, tons of misc bolts/screws/nuts that were missing. The parts came from this green 67 Signet that I still need to finish cutting up.It don't look like that no mo either :p

It will be able to roll around soon so I can take it to my other garage to make room for my Signet that is at the body shop

I'm pretty much just assembling this car back to stock form with all factory missing parts and putting it in storage while I enjoy my other Valiant.

I was thinking of putting the dana 60 in it now but it will be a ***** to push a 4:88 geared car by myself into the other garage so I'm holding off on that until I get it regeared

I was digging around in my garage today and I must have 9 sets of grilles and tail lights. I also have enough sheet metal and misc to build another Valiant or repair mine if someone hits it.

Pics of 2 more odd ball things I have never seen on a Valiant.

grill filler support brackets

dohickie bell washer things on the bullet turn signals instead of the usual bracket

This car was a /6,auto,radio delete with a/c from the factory. I have 2 mint dash frames I can use. I have a factory plane jane dash and I also have a Signet dash. IF I go back to a/c I will need to locate the a/c bezel for the non Signet dash.

I'm getting quite a bit done in reassembly. It's a good thing I have tons of parts for these cars and have taken many apart. I reinstalled the DS glass, vent frame and window reg, dome light, wire wheel and sprayed the trans mount. I'm still giving the dash another day or 2 to dry before install. I do need to add the door catch assy still for it to latch. I need to add the speedo cable, engine bay harness, pinch weld trim, front park lights and a few missing bolts under the hood, install dash, column, swap out fresh air door, install rear seat, seat belts.

I now have the bucket brackets and doggy dish caps. It's going together smoove
