Do you have a pinion snubber?

Have you frame connected it?

what shocks?

Did you get a chance to advance the timing till in max'd mph?

bucket seats or bench?
how many runs did you get?

no pinion snubber yet

2x2 .083 frame connectors

cheapo shocks... looking to get calverts all the way around... there new 90-10's will settle pretty fast...

timing is set at 30 total, 2 light springs, all in at idle

66 GT buckets, which will be going away cuz they are heavy...

i think 6 runs, three were wasted cuz i didn't line up in the tracks... lol...:sign2:

Get longer than stock shocks, or ones that will extend more as so you'll know they won't be binding up the springs/rear.

side note ...I notice someone sags by dropping the rear of the car [raised shackle plates] to help with faster transfer or just a mistake...or something stumbled upon unknowingly , like you know who runnin 11's, his shackles were bound up against the frame when I saw that car last year at the mats..maybe forcing the spring to ark more/stiffing them.
Made me wonder if that was hindering or helping or specific to the flogged out springs....

The snubber may help you if the front segment of the springs are weak.

Raise the timing till the mph stops increasing, then go back to the last setting that showed an increase.

i believe it was bill pine and his wifes car (new ooperators of the killer bee's racing club)... not for sure... first time meeting them...

If you can find out for me I sure would appreciate it. Did you happen to notice what it ran?

yea you got a problem with that?!? lol :bootysha::toothy10:

i have a set of .830 bars to put in the front and am planning to get rid of the XHD springs for the light SS springs of mono-fiberglass ones...

i have to get my launch down and find out how the converter wants to be launched... i think it wants to be footbraked as far as the car will let it (3800)

And if you have a front sway bar, take it off or oval the link bushings so that it does not bind the front end up on ya, hey weren't designed around drag racing and front end lift.

Naw, just seems like a lot. Does it run well like that? No detonation?

lol yea used to run it at 34 but doug said that was kinda high... i was planning on doing like wild said once i get consistent with the car

nope! no sway bar... i am thinking of cutting the upper bumper also to let the front end come up...

what extended length should i look for on shocks? is there an adjustable one from Street/strip so i can keep the front end down on the street?

Yeah let the mph tell you whats too high.

Comp engineering work [longer] are 3 way adjustable and are cheap

Great videos/pics, looks like everyone had a great day !

So whats the general consensus with the stock 5/16" fuel line and stock mechanical fuel pump with these hopped up slants ?

Are guys going to 3/8" fuel line and elec fuel pumps ?

i think all the race cars have 3/8 electric but i am running 5/16 mech with no issues...

I run 3/8th with electric red pump. All motor and couldnt get it below 11.76 @112 in Vegas, was a little dissapointed.Lost a six pack bet that it would run under 11.70s.C class record will bee in the 11.80s after I add 300lbs weight.3 more record goals in the the slants for me this year.Guzzi Mark

Did you feal like you were starving for fuel with the stock pump/fuel line,in the upper RPM's ?

Holley Blue, running 2 filters, 5 1/6 line from pump to regulator set at 4.5 lbs, 3/8 from regulator to carb, shift @ 5800, 13.40's @ 98 mph or so. Been running same set up for last 10 years. Works for me...

So am I safe in assuming this is the Slant 6 series of racing,or just Friday night fun ?? Man I'd love to be able to get involved in that !!!

MATS is the Season Opener for the Slant 6 Racing Series! Your location in Florida would put you closest to the South Georgia race. You could jump in with both feet and volunteer to be the race coordinator this year!

The East and West schedules have been posted here in the Slant 6 thread. Most of the talk about the Slant 6 Racing Series is over on slantsix.org. Here are the links to the two schedules from there. It would be great to have you come out and race with us!

Great photos and videos! Thanks for posting everything!!

I'll put something together for the Slant Six Racing News if you can give me some more information:

1. Owners/Drivers of each car.
2. Who ran who with ET / MPH
3. Any personal interest type stuff / funny stories, etc.

You can get an idea of what each story typically entails by checking out the various issues of SSRN posted over at slantsix.org:

Thanks!

Didnt like beating myself against Ed in the first round by going red -014.Really really didnt like getting beat in the first round of the footbrake class.I got beat by .0003.He cut a .006 lite to my .020.Pretty sure that was the closest race the whole weekend of all the cars with me beeing the loser.and I lost a 6 pack by not running below 11.70 that I bet Doc I would do.Car was perfect,I was off.Guzzi Mark
