So I had thought I was set on Blue/gunmetal grey but my painter has given me a few more ideas to play with. I'm still thinking 2 tone but there are a few options now and I'm not sold on any one color.

So Here are my options:
2010 Deep Water Blue Pearl/ 2006 Mustang Gun Metal grey roof
Maroon and Black roof
2008 Plum Crazy Black roof
2008 Plum Crazy Silver roof

I voted and this is my opinion.....

Gimmicky, 2-tone paint jobs go out of style and hurt resale. A solid color car will always look good.

So true. When I was torturing myself, the wife & the body guy about the color of our car the body guy finally had enough.....As he put it don't paint it in the "theme of the week" type of way. Keep it simple so you will not end up hating it when the fad passes. What is wrong with an oe color and a vinyl top (if it had one)?

I agree. Solid color & vinyl top. Either pinstriped or tail striped as well. Have those painted on before the clear & never worry about them peeling up while washing, etc

I agree with ink, a single color on the A bodies really makes them unless it was a vinyl top car. JMO

Car never had a vinyl top that I could tell (seems were to nice and there was no trim) The other thought was solid color with Flat black hood bumble bee stripe

I was thinking two tone and this is what I went with on my scamp

john remember your building the car for yourself not everybody else and you would have a problem with a vinyl top with no drip rail

solid color base and do your second color with a vinyl wrap that way if you get tired of it you just peel it off

I think 1971 A4 Gunmetal Grey Poly would look awesome on yours. Would work well with a blackout treatment if desired as well.

Sort of a greeny/bluey/silvery/grey. Classy and different.

I was stuck also between solid or 2 tone paint. in the end I went with 2 tone. Pick what ever makes you happy.

My thought is if you 2 tone it, do it like Darrens (nice ride Darren). Without vinyl top trim where would you change color? The blue and gray would look good, and different. My car was vinyl top, not 2 tone. I searched the net for pics and decided to keep it.
If you are building your car to sell then keep it one color, and a popular one, so more buyers would like it. If you are not building to sell make it yours. JMO

try this john

PPG#924486 then if you want a 2 tone go with a matte black or an ice silver on the tops
