Im looking for a quick little dakota or ram, passed up a few 440 pickups this year because I didnt have the money, but now that I do I cant find any!! :( not looking to break the bank but want something driving please :)

If it don't smoke black take it back. A street-able, ecconomical, Family crew cab. With A/C will run 12's all day and still pull a big *** trailer like it ain't there. I can still cruise towing the race trailer at over 100 mph. The 05 06 5.9 Cummins . They are plug and play.

Ive already played with a cummins, an 06 actually! Fun fun trucks, I want a gas truck though. Thanks buddy!

Something I'll never understand, "A FAST DIESEL TRUCK" Wouldn't that be the same line of thinking. "I want my 340 Dart to be able to tow my 14.000 lb toy Hauler.

Look on craiglist, I seen a Dodge ram short bed for $3000.00 in Norfolk Va. last week.

i guess u haven't seen some of the diesels run have ya lol, my friends truck runs 11.50s in 4x4 and pulls trailers on week days

guess you didn't realize the power and torque a diesel engine makes at under 3000 RPM.

Best thing about a fast diesel truck is you can take it and play on weekends at the track, put down 25-30 MPG getting there and first thing Monday morning haul your 14,000 LB load anywhere you want

You can find older trucks with newer drive lines. Here is one I did and sold. Into the high 12's with those big tires.

The only thing a big block has over a Cummins is the Kerchunk-kerchunk. And it is able to drink more and get less out of it.

These are pics of the same truck. I tried big blocks also. Nothing ran like that cummins. The truck was unbelievable fast and ate alot of mustangs on the street. Couldn't do it with the 8's even with the blower. They had no torque on the bottom.

thats not a 24V is it? kinda looks like it but I can't tell with the aftermarket cover

I know all the hp and torque you can get out of a CTD. I work on a 98 CTD Triple turbo truck that this guy drag races. And yes for a 7-8,000 lb truck it is impressive. As a matter of fact I make a living off all the diesel die hards that want to race a diesel. Multi turbos, big injectors, stacking boxes,EFI live, etc. But a fast truck? Fast compared to a stock one! With all the money these guys dump into these lead sleds, I can show you how to go fast in 2315 lb. Super Gas Barracuda with a puny .030 over iron head 440. Don't get me wrong I love my 07 4x4 CTD, and it does a great job of towing my 14k toy hauler. I just never understand the fast diesel idea. Now you have to excuse me, I need to go put a clutch in my 13 speed 69 360 Over the road long distance hauling Dart.
Now don't go getting upset, this is just my 2 cents and not meant to piss anyone off.

Common rails are plug and play. I had more into my internals on the gas engines then I had in the whole diesel install. I thought we were talking trucks?.

When you have to Cringe to keep your eyeballs in your head when pulling the stop lever. Then you'll know what fast is. And you are not doing it with a boat anchor for power.

Sounds to me you are still in the ironage and race gas. Iron is for diesels. Aluminum is for gas.

Trucks should be Iron. Cars should be aluminum. Just saying what anyone with common sense should know.

This is one of my trucks. Yes it has some fuel and electronic mods .

I had alot of 440 4pd dana cars in my time. Driving this truck brings back the feeling of the power they had. But its 6 spd and it gets up to 25 mpg on a road trip towing a trailer. My dually is just as powerful but don't drift or corner as well.

Buy a Cummins. once you go black you'll never go back.

The OP was talking "fast" and "trucks". I know speed, I've been 7.64 @178.34 MPH in a A Altered. My buddies triple turbo CTD went 136 MPH in a half mile? But were getting off track from the OP thread. I'll shut up now.

Here is a pair near me, too bad they are not for sale :burnout:
