I just acquired what is titled as a 1960 dodge dart Seneca but when I look up the vin decoder the 4th digit doesn't match a build location. I hope I didn't taken for a ride. The car has been painted an ugly yellow. I know theres a tag on the front cowl somewhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to decode that thing or where another vin tag or option tag would be located. The car is "supposed" to be a 46,000 mi survivor. I look forward to learning about my new
project.

first 4 are 4109. ill get pics when I go pick it up

you have then a dodge 6 Seneca made in Windsor, Ontario. The first digit 4 is for 6 cyl, 1 is for Seneca, 0 for the model year, and 9 for Windsor.Ontario.(there were nine plants,1-9) the rest are the serial numbers. The first four of My Desoto is 7103, and the rest are the serial numbers. You are fine! Great car for something with a bit more power, there certainly enough room. There is a 61' Seneca sedan floating around this area with 24,000 actual miles on it in perfect condition. But I can't as yet turn it up. good luck!

thanks the lookup I found online only had up to 6.itll be a project for sure

A whole lot easier to find parts today with the internet than not so long ago.... Having a Dart with 'jet-tube' tail lights and all the other styling details from 1960 will make it worth it!:happy1:

thanks for the warm welcome . from my minimal test drive the wheel cylinders need rebuilt all the way around which shouldn't be too bad and it need some tires asap.

these are the copied craigslist pics

Very nice shape for a 54 year old car! The yellow makes it look like a taxi!

I think it used to be a metallic brown.for now I might continue the taxi theme

Looks like the one Tony Barker had, Welcome to the board.

Any insight on previous owners would help.does his family own a scrap business??

I drove a 60 dodge station wagon in 1970! I could get ten of us teenagers into the drive-in with it easy! It was a 318, however.

I remember that name on the title.do you know anything about the car or if I can get ahold of him to ask?
