Show Us Pictures of 2nd Generation Barracudas

-
Good question 75Slant6!

I understand your tongue in cheek question. The picture posting I do all stems from a love of 2nd gen fish and deciding I was going to finally own one. So five years ago I started looking on the net for the right street fish. I kept copies of the pictures of any fish I ran across for reference about options, wheels, interiors, paint, and decal combos. After a couple years I had not found the "perfect" car to buy, but boy did I have a boat load of pictures.

I also had a desire to learn to drag race. So at the same time as looking for a street fish, I started looking for a drag fish. In the fall of 2011 I found and bought my drag fish. Then I joined FABO, and decided to start this thread to share the pictures I had and see more of all the fish owned or found by other FABO members.

Based on the numbers, there seems to be about 250 to 300 people a day who also enjoy fish enough to hit this thread and get their daily fix, so I am not along in my love of fish! - LOL!

I am still looking for the right street fish. I let a couple slip thru my hands that I should have bought. So the search continues, as does my posting on the thread.

Thanks for asking, I hope I did not ramble on too much...

Ma Snart

PS - Picture attached of:

1) My drag fish - The B3 project car from Mopar magazine which I bought from the builder, Dave Young, Tech editor at MM.

2) Also. the almost ideal fish (for me) I let get away, a 69 Orange fastback. Damn it! I should have bought that car...

That's an awesome story and a great thread!! It takes some serious dedication to hold out for the "perfect" car! If it were me I'd just have bought one the year I wanted with all or at least most of the options I'd want and do the rest myself. The only reason I don't have a project right now is I don't have the money. I can't imagine havin the money and passing up great cars, that'd just be too hard! Lol my hat's off to you for you'd determination in your quest for your perfect car!!

I can't imagine havin the money and passing up great cars, that'd just be too hard! !!

Hey 75Slant6!

While it hasn't been easy to pass on some of the almost perfect fish, I have been able to do so because I have a couple other non A Body cars to play with:

61 Chrysler Newport - 361 Auto - Bought it all stock and added the wheels/tires and stance.

71 Dodge Charger - Was a father/son tribute project I bought where they took a regular Charger SE and did a complete frame off and rebuilt with all R/T parts except for the gill doors. Has a built 440 with stick shift. I added the stick tran, a TKO 600 5 speed.

So I am very lucky to already have a street cruiser and street bruser ...

Thanks Ma Snart. I got some Summit series 55 rims to really just look at what would fit. There are so many different combos out there. They were under $70 each so I thought what the hey. I planned to change them to magnum 500's but they have grown on me since. I think the silver looks good with the green. One thing I am having trouble with is some rubbing here and there but I will get it figured out. Nice pics you posted too. A lot of nice gen 2 cudas out there!!!! Keep them coming!

That cold fish looks like the one that was for sale at $90K a while back. Glad to see it out and about.

Hey AirWoofer!

Nice find! Enjoyed looking at all of the pics. Some serious HP in the thread...

Here is one of the pictures I found interesting on that thread, but not for the fish itself. I have never seen anyone lay down what looks like panels of sheet aluminum to make a temporary garage floor in the pits. Neat idea...
