I just picked up this 1972 340 duster. It has the matching numbers engine and trans fender tag and build sheet. All original sheet metal the motor is never been apart. Car was parked in a garage in 1985 until six years ago when the gentleman I bought it from bought it. All original interior that is in very good condition the car really is unmolested. I'm excited about the car let me know what you guys think and a ballpark value . Original color is the tor red, not a highly option car but I'm liking it! Thanks and happy new year !

I'm trying !!! Have a bunch of pics but can't load them for some reason !

Great find, loving the color and originality! Most will lower the value if a column auto, I would say 12K-18K without seeing closer pics.

70k miles on the car and very minimal rust issues considering a northeast car. Spring can't get here quick enough!! Plan on thorough cleaning of the car, the pics are taken when I looked at car. I will post some cleaned up pics when I get it to house and put some elbow into it.

Wow I had a ride in that car last weekend. Paul who was selling it was very cool. Car was in nice shape. Get that rear main seal fixed. Great car....good luck with it. Where are you in CT?

Hey I think I saw that car on craigslist a few weeks ago. To me, it is the perfect driver. I just didn't need to buy a another car right now. I think you got a lot of car for your money!

nice find!!! i'm not into valuing peoples cars but realize this. if original it will only be that way if you leave it that way!!! "survivor" cars are very unusual finds.
as far as value is concerned, like the other guy said, colomn shift doesn't add to value, and 72 340 cars not as desirable as 70-1 due to lower compression. the color is great combo. a really cool car!!!

When I went to look at the car the owner was advertising it on Craigslist for $10,500. He told me he wouldn't take any less than 9K and he seemed pretty firm. I'd be surprised if 1969Superbee got it for less than that. It did run well and the owner demonstrated numerous times that the Sure Grip 3.23 rear was functioning properly. I had a smile on my face from ear to ear in that test ride.....I would clean up the engine bay replace seals and gaskets as needed and the metal work in trunk gutter down drivers side and drive that thing. The best part was the owner drove it to Englishtown and ran it down the 1/4 mile and drove it home just recently.

Thanks for all the replies ! Paul the guy I bought it from is a very nice honest guy. You are right the only spot that really needs attention is that drip rail and that is minimal for a car that spent it's life in CT!! I plan on putting a set of polyglas tires on it, cleaning it up and doing the gaskets in the motor. Depending on time and money I may just do a quick rebuild on motor and keep it stock for the most part. It's a great driver that I think people will appreciate as it is. It's getting delivered tomorrow so I'll keep you posted with details !

So???? Did your baby make it to her new home today?
