Not sure if this is in the right forum ,69 was the last year for a 4 spd console, correct?

I believe so, yes. I know gts had them but not sure about b cuda? 70 and up only auto's received them.

Yes I agree from the factory 69 was the last year. It's a somewhat rare console to find as it is 1 year only. Woodgrain w/o the line....

Thank you for the replies. The reason I asked is I just got new issue of Hemmings Muscle Cars and in the auction report there is a GB5 71 340 Duster 4spd and its described as not having a console. I had this conversation a few years ago with another A body guy and we came to the conclusion that there were no 70 + 4 spd consoles.

They were available from 66 to 69 with 69 being the only year as woodgrain......they were an extra cost option on all 4 speed cars. The GTS, formula S and certain other cars came with bucket seats as standard equipment, but even on a GTS or other with buckets, if the original buyer did not pay the extra charge for the console then car was delivered with a non console shifter handle and nothing between the buckets.

The 4 speed console was not available after 70 from the factory however they remained available through the hustle stuff catalog. So someone could buy one over the counter at a dodge dealer and have the dealer install it.

Once you install one you will see why the factory dropped them from the assembly line. They take a lot of time to line up and they are real fickle. I found this out a few years ago when i had to have one in my 69 dart. About a grand and 40 hours later, i have a very poor fitting and very expensive factory option. LoL

The automatic consoles do not have the same fitment issues because they have a very large and supportive center bracket, so the auto console is a completely different animal
