4 or 3/8 U-joint bolts and the Driveline comes out..
driveshaft you mean, sure. then out comes a gallon of tranny fluid. Pull it backwards and quit making this difficult.... LOL

That was an everyday thing. Nothing unusual about it.
So there's no difference and I tow truck picking the back end of a car up off the ground and just having the two tires trailing, then having the back tires down on a tow dolly with the front tires trailing?

most tow trucks lift by the back tires. They don't drag cars down the road by bumpers... LOL

Oh boy do I have to drive out and its most simplest form for you? No duh! You put a little plastic plug in there that fits just nice and snug like the slip yoke. Or a spare slip yoke. people don't generally heavyweight things they're pulling to the rear.

Nowadays they drag by the front tires because our front wheel drive and the back ones are just Rolling Along. But long ago and far away we didn't have all these front wheel drive vehicles.

You are a word twisting son of a gun! They tow truck lifting the back tires is way different than the back tires being down on a dolly...

DARTFREAK..... here are your two choices with a dolly:
  1. crawl under and removed drive shaft, wire a spare yoke in the tranny, then when you get to the drag way, crawl under and remove tied in spare yoke, and re-install drive shaft.
  2. pull it backwards.

Honestly I really appreciate all your thoughts and stuff here on the forum, but this one I am going to tell you is got to be the stupidest suggestion and I've ever heard anybody give. Towing anything weighted to the back on a freeway or highway is absolutely complete stupidity.
 
Of course a tow truck can pick up the back tires and tow a car we've seen it a million times but this is a far cry from a regular truck towing a car backwards using a tow dolly..

And honestly, you just showed me something about you, I'll say no more. Weighted to the back is a killer on a trailer and will cause sway, or an accident. 2 wheel dolly's don't have the same weight distribution on the tongue as trailers. Weight on the ground is no effect on how the dolly pulls

I would think having the weight on the dolly, would be better than a tow truck hoisting the *** end.
I can see how using the dolly is a option.

When I towed my cars with a TRAILER, I made every effort to put the weight a little more on the front.

When you pull with a dolly … IT DOES NOT MATTER. You are NOT picking up the tongue of the dolly no matter HOW much weight is on the ground rolling... Before you say it's the "stupidest" suggestion, know what your talking about.

You do relize my boat has 900 pounds of running gear out the *** end.

you asked how I pulled my car to the drag way. I had a trailer. But, I also had a dolly and I towed several cars several ways in several directions. Carry on, i'm out on this towing subject.
