He messaged me a week or so ago, saying he wanted to send me a few things in his way, that might help me down the road. I told him, that's cool, but let me know what the shipping is, I'm not going to let him get away with paying that.
Finally went into the house today, and the kid had put a box on my desk. Open it, and I find all this stuff from @kursplat .

This literally made me tear up.

You guys on this site are ******* awesome! (again, pardon my french).

I was secretly hoping a rust free stripped out '69 notch would show up on a car hauler, so I wouldn't have to dig rust and fix mine. :)

This isn't the first thing I've been sent for free on this site. And, like you, I've sent a few things out for free.. pay it forward is right. It's awesome.. help each other out when we can to keep these cars on the road. :)

I think there might be a scam or two, once in a while. I gave a guy a stock good shape 440 forged crank a long while back, it turned out there was more than one "looking and posting" about the need for one . Never heard squat , or a thank you from either !
 
I would rather give stuff I dont need to someone that actually needs it rather than sell it cheap to a reseller.

I have been on both sides of this issue. Been there done that got the t-shirt. Boils down to having a really good group of people with common interests who are digitally connected.

Yeah, there's jerks everywhere. That said, I think you're far better off buying/selling here than craigslist or (shudder) Evilbay.
