I am starting the Intellitronix Dash upgrade. Today is reading instruction day, getting the wires needed and pondering exactly how long it should take. Then I will double that amount of time and be somewhat close, I hope. I may make a thread, pics and all, of the upgrade when I begin it if there is any interest. I have an extra dash that I will be using. It is better than the one in the car right now.

working on the steering column. Put in new upper and lower bearings. cleaning up these valve covers to replace the chrome ones as its a little too much bling for me. Will paint engine color. Looking to wrinkle paint the air cleaner, but will search for a non chrome version to paint.

I boxed up my power steering pump. Sending it to Steer and Gear for a rebuild. They did my steering gear box last year.

How did your steering box turn out? Must have been well if you're sending the pump to them now. I met them and gave them my steering box at Thanksgiving. Seem like great people to work with.

I like it. They had a reasonable turn-around time. I can't remember how long but it wasn't too long.

After a couple of weeks the pinion shaft seal started seeping. They mailed me a new seal and I did the "in car" seal removal trick and a bearing came out with the seal.:BangHead: They paid shipping the box back to them and repaired it. They were disappointed it happened and very apologetic. No problems with it since getting it reinstalled.

Oh, and I went with the "sport" feel. Next time I'd go with the "modern" feel. Sport is just a tad tight for me.

But, yes. I'm happy to send them more work. They have great customer service. When you call, they answer and will gladly talk with you.

Got the block back, .30 bore and crankshaft polished up. Installed oil gallery and freeze plugs and cam bearings, ready to drop the crankshaft and check clearances. I live for **** like this... LOL

Thx! I had asked for the Modern so glad you agree too. I sure hope mine doesn't leak though!! Like you did, I also found them to be very nice people to work with.

What started out as a digital dash install has turned into, redoing the stereo with a Retrosound stereo, painting the dash top, painting and installing new vents, redoing or rerouting wires that were added along the way, removing the mechanical oil pressure gauge and installing a used but new for me wood grain dash to replace the painted one I had. I want to make it look a bit more original inside even though the outside does not look original.

I still have to wait on some molex connectors for the dash as I ordered the wrong size. I am glad I have a heated shop as it was 3*F today when I went out there.
