going to Moser to be shortened to A body specs. I was thinking of just taking it to the post office like I do everything else then I got to thinking that it might be too big for them. who would you suggest I go with? post office or there's a fastenal close by or fed ex, maybe others. thank you for your time. RR

I don't know about the States but here in Canada shipping company called Day and Ross what i do is strap it to a light pallet they weigh it and send it for a very good price .

Usually I'd say strap it to a pallet and take it to Fastenal (check with your local Fastenal first, not all of them do the shipping thing), BUT their shipping is store-to-store, so you're going to have to ask Moser if they're going to be willing to send an employee down to their local Fastenal (however near/far that is for them) in a company truck on company time to haul your rear end back to their shop- and how much extra they may charge you for that. And then reverse the process to ship it back.
I'm sure Moser has a preferred shipper, you could ask them and they may even set you up in that regard.

Fastenal for the win. You have to set it up online, Put it on a pallet and drop it off, receiver has to pick it up at the store!

You don't even have to pallet it or wrap it or anything. Just remove any studs and put a shipping tag on it and UPS will take it.

I took the studs out & washed it (moser said they want it clean). that'd sure be nice to just drop it off as is. I will give UPS a call. thanks guys. RR

well I just came back from UPS. $259 to ship/$170 moser to shorten it (& probably more for new pads/welding them on) PLUS the return shipping! ouch! but its done. thanks again guys & I will checkout pirateship for my next one. RR

Word on the street is that Fastenal has suspended all shipping operations for the foreseeable future. If I were shipping my housing, I would be making a form fit wooden crate and sending it through my FedEx account, and expecting the housing to be shipped back in the same crate.

Cosgig I will check them out also on my next one as I know I will be doing another in the future. too bad on Fastenal as they are just down the street. RR

Cut a 1/2 piece of plywood 1" longer than the housing on all sides and bolt it to the chuck. That way they can bolt it back on the same way.

I have received a housing recently that was boxed very nicely. I used Pirate ship and it was $57 via UPS.
A few years ago I bought one (before Pirate Ship) and forgot what the shipping was but it came wrapped in plastic cling wrap.
