Lexan windows on the street?

-
It's not but I got a friend who will sell it to me at cost.

Maybe I'll just do everything but the front and change that out with new glass.

I want to loose the windo regulators and cut most of the bracing out.

Ounces make pounds ya know.

I'll do all the install my self. I use to do auto glass when I was a kid.
Just buy a 4x8 sheet and do it yourself.

You're right, race track only. I don't have a picture of just the front and the rear is still glass.

Having some experience with enforcement and glass legalities in the offroad communities I can tell you that all they care about legally is the front glass.
All the other windows don't have to be there at all to be legal.
Actually if you wear eye protection you don't even have to have the front glass to be legal.
Notice those side by side ATV's running around on the street?
NONE of them have glass, and the ones that don't have a windscreen at all have goggles on.
That makes them legal.

Don't bother with the lexan for your street ride. IF you want to go faster, build more motor. My 2 cents
Cause of your 2 cents on this post, I had to become a member and find the post again. My 2 cents is the only motors in cars run off electric, you know like a stomper?? The thing under the hood is called a engine.
My father taught me this at a very young age. It's always been a big pet peeve of mine!! Even big shows on TV call them engines, you can always tell the difference in a true gear head!! A engine runs off gasoline a " MOTOR" RUNS ON ELECTRIC!!!! please people GET IT STRAIGHT!!!! THANKS

Wow, became a member to say that lol.
People say motor and know that it's an engine.
Here's one thing to think about, why is racing of any kind called Motorsports???

You’re most definitely barking up the wrong tree here bud. The guy you are saying isn’t a gearhead is the exact opposite of your off base claim.
He is a gearhead extraordinaire

I meant TV shows call them motors instead of engines cause the dumb asses producing the shows are not car guys for a reason, they are producers ( dumb asses when it comes to cars)!!!

Couldn’t agree more. The weight savings couldn’t possibly amount to more than 1/2 a tenth. More trouble than it’s worth unless it’s an all out heads up car.
There's over 100 pounds in **** that can be removed in an a-body that's just in having the glass and ability to roll your windows up and down. That chromoly tubing for the entire car is less than 5 pounds.

Yea, probably right with every piece of glass and all the window stuff.
Just depends how big a deal a few more hundreds are for the inconveniences.
I have never been anything but a street strip guy, so have never remotely considered it.
I would do a glass hood and deck lid before I would do that

Just my two cents..... insulting well respected members with your first post is NOT the way to become accepted in this community.

You have a nice car, I definitely wouldn't do it if I had that car and it is only a slight hassle if it's done the way I did it lol. My quarter glass and regulator assembly came out of the rear wheel well which I cut out for more tire.

I was trying to set someone straight that was knocking the original post. He had to put his 2 cents in when it wasn't needed telling someone to build a bigger motor the post wasn't anything to do with his engine!!!

You'll find out that a lot of people who have been here a long time usually kid around with others.
It's not worth getting offended or trying to save the world.
