Got the Dart back fom paint and have the car reassembled. When I say paint I mean primer with a matt clear coating which should keep the car looking good at least until I decide what color to paint it...if I ever do. The folks at Sharadon Performance really brought the body lines back out and everyhting is crisp. The AAR fiberglass fenders and hood fit better than I had hoped...almost a perfect bolt on. Took quite a while to work the front disc barkes out though and finally went with 73 up spindles, AR engineering billet mouts for the Wilwood 4x piston calipers and Cordoba 11.75 rotors. With the B body 11 inch brakes the car now stops as fast as it accelerates.

I have gotten a great response from folks that have seen it and most like it the way it is which may lead me to leave it that way for the forseeable future. A car llike this is never done and it is still a work in progress. Still needs straps on the doors for the windows, headliner, mechanical tach drive cable and the Dana needs to be detailed but all that can wait until next winter as summer is here and this car begs to driven and beat on.

The Passon 4 speed shifts extremely well and allows me to cruise at 75MPH while only taching 2600RPM with a 4:10 gear...best of both worlds. Runs at just 175 degress in traffic and never goes above 180 when flying down the interstate....many thanks to Glenn Ray radiator for producing a really qaulity radiaor that looks stock and fits in the stock loction.

If anyone is intereted in building one of these and I can be of any help just ask. If folks want more pics if particular details let me know as well

Yeah Baby....That's the way they came...."Body in White"

that looks freakin sweet :-D honestly i dont think id ever paint it. leave ti the way it was, heck throw some dog dish hubcaps on it maybe, but i like the rims on it too.

Nice job, and sweet gearing with the new trans

OMG, wish I could have that car in my driveway.
I`m with dart wagon, don`t think I would ever paint it.
Awesome Dart (thumbs up)

All i can say is WOW! What could posible be better than a hemi dart? Maybe a hemi dart with a 4 speed? What about a hemi dart with a 4 speed and a dana 60? Yeah i think so! It looks great , i am glad to see someone that is getting there project finished. Best of luck on the rest of the build. Congrats on a super sweet hemi hurst dart my friend.

droooooool. it is perfect. i would love to see it in person.

the only exception is i need a candy stripe nurse with the smelling salts on hand.......

I think you should find a retro paint scheme/technique that would be indicative of a 1968 drag cars paint job, but with your own unique style. That would take it right back in time. Hurst left them unpainted knowing that every racer/team would do their own signature paint job. That`s why I think you should find a paint job that`s all yours. Great job you`ve done on everything from stem to stern! Please post more pictures , I`d love to see it!

I love these cars...you did an outstanding job! More pics please.

Do like you said finish up with the window straps and the little details. I have yet to see very many people doing one of these the way you have! Absolutely insane man I love it! Anyone who knows what you were going for here will drool over it. I also agree with LongGone, if you do deide to paint it find a retro scheme that suits your style.
Gotta love all the 60s / 70s vintage stuff. Last summer I was told my car looked like it had rolled off the drag strip from 30 years ago. My car is all primered in different colors and what not. I loved to hear a comment like that.
Keep up the good work! Absolutely BADA$$

Looks great, but I vote for paint. Would look very cool with a lace and panel job circa 1968 like the Speedwwin Dart, et al.

Not many pics of these cars in action without paint.

i defiantely am not the first person to get a hard on on this thread. but if u decide to paint it go with blue. b5 blue. but this is the way they came from hurst and i love the way they look. the huge back tires. the gasser style lofty front end. just leave it all the way it is. is this thing pretty much the way they came back in 68. like to the tee. i read these bastards run low 11s high 10s right from the dealership.

Nice looking Dart!

I've got a thread going on tips for trimming the rear wheel wells.... could you post some more pictures of the rear wheels and quarter panels?

thanks

please don't paint that car!!! that car is awesome!!! Damn I love MOPARS!!!!
