Big Block Low Deck engine install in 68 Dart

That sounds like the best way to do it. Having the rear of the car up would have probably made it easier. Thank you for the compliment on the Dart!

Big Block Low Deck engine install in 68 Dart

I made a few modifications to the inner fenders and spark plug changes shouldn't be an issue. Stroked small blocks are nice, but you will never get the the HP and TQ numbers that a stroker big block can produce without spending a fortune or having an engine that is more of a race set up. (i.e...

Big Block Low Deck engine install in 68 Dart

Well, installed my 470 Low Deck for the final time in my 68 Dart and tried we tried a different approach. The engine was in the car before for mock up, but didn't have headers at the time. The engine went in pretty easy for mock up, but we decided to try bolting on the headers and transmission...

    Great Price 67-76 Mopar A-Body Complete Stainless X Pipe System Hooker Blackheart 2.5" & 3" - Under $400 & Free Shipping

I just purchased the 3" kit for my 68 Dart after seeing this thread. Kit came within 2 days of ordering it and looks pretty good. The 3" system actually does have the X pipe shown in their photos, but will require a little work as there is still only a small hole going between the two tubes...

    Aftermarket block street strokers.

We only made two pulls due to the AFR issue. I was just on the dyno to check for leaks and run in. The carb used was a 950 HP dyno carb and I am going to run sniper xflow fuel injection in the car and will do more testing in the car on a chassis dyno when the car is all together. I agree that...

    Aftermarket block street strokers.

You can make great power with a 470 (400 with 3.91 stroke) and the question becomes, how much HP and TQ do you need for a "street" car. I just dynoed my 470 and it had 658HP and 689TQ. It is going to be hard to get it to hook up on the street with that much TQ as it is, but will be a lot of...

Holley Sniper on 700 hp big bock

Thanks Andy! That makes sense. What about the shielding the sniper wiring? Have you done that on any build in the past?

Holley Sniper on 700 hp big bock

Yes, wiring is one of my biggest concerns. The fact that the wires for the sniper unit come out the front side near the distributor where are all the plug wires run causes me some concern. I am going to run Firecore spark plugs wires and try to route the sniper wires as far away from them as I...

Holley Sniper on 700 hp big bock

Hello Andy, I have read a number of your posts and found them very interesting. (including your Duster build) I am currently installing a fairly stout 470 low deck in a street/strip 68 Dart. I have the Holley Sniper X Flow + the Hyperspark combination, but this will be my first time going with...

    Phenolic Carb Spacer

    Thank you for the info!

    Phenolic Carb Spacer

Have you had any issues with the wood spacer warping? Do you change it every year, or have you run the same wood spacer?

    Phenolic Carb Spacer

Good question. I am not running the spacer for HP as much as I am running fuel injection and the spacer apparently reduces noise from the injectors that is common with the sniper systems.

    Phenolic Carb Spacer

Hello, I am looking to run a 4 hole tapered spacer on my 470 and had a question for the group in regards to phenolic vs aluminum carb spacers. I was looking at a Jegs phenolic spacer that says it is good with temperatures up to 400 degrees, which seems to be pretty high. This is going on a...
