    take them out of a overdrive and cut the tits off but only if using non interlock side cover. best part in a overdrive

    I was trying to tell you that the output/mainshaft is different. If you do not use the OVD gears you need to get a different mainshaft/output shaft. The tailshaft will work

    you have to use the larger rear bearing with it but yes it works, Remember it is a b/e body piece. you can use the 1-2 slider assembly as it is the same and they have steel shift forks. the forks need the tits cut off with a dremel. but they are steel and don't break.     check your front bearing. parts "house bearings" sold by parts stores or cheap kits are almost always wrong. This chews up main drive pinions and gear cluster sets at a minimum. I don't have specs on any but the 308 bearing which should be 0.825 thick. a cheap kit bearing will be 0.795.

    trunion trannys usually have a 3.09 1st gear. yes you can swap it over by changing the main shaft and tail shaft
