Wow.. thanks for all the info!! The mounting bolts have 6volts.. I never touched the heatsink/transistor ( just the outside body). I do have a ground strap from the back of the head to the brake booster studs and I even took a 10gauge wire and grou d the same mounting bolt to the ground on the...

Thanks Super Cuda, it appears the previous owner had the module wiring power coming from the wrong side of the ballast.. however I agree the module must be faulty if I have voltage on the housing( mounting bolts) thanks for responding

Yes that is how it was wired when I got the car.... I will change it to full 12v source.. someone cheated and I didn't know any better. Thanks for the advice!. Still not sure why the outside case has voltage going through it(mounting bolts). I appreciate the response
