Sharing my experience with an "over advancing" FBO plate

Hi there, First I think it's important to mention that the FBO plate option worked for me, however I encountered a couple of issues along the way and thought it might help someone to know what I learned in the process. I also came across a thread that mentioned the FBO plate over advancing so...

Fond of A Bodies even though I own a B Body

They're all really cool cars, the kind they don't make them like anymore.

Thanks, I got lucky and got mine for a relatively reasonable price 6 years ago. It being a small block Satellite, not a Road Runner, helped also. I have a soft spot for Dusters and Demons though :D!

Hello there! It's been a while but here are a couple of recent videos for those who also appreciate B Bodies :): One of the first times taking the Satellite out for a drive after a long winter storage: A French Youtuber came over last summer and made that nice video of the car, english...

Set "total" timing on a stock 318 two-barrel where?

Arriving a little late to the show. I was able to get 25 degrees of mechanical advance with the FBO plate by filing carefully the 0 degree slots which I would never have used anyway. Pretty much the same as you would do after welding the slots on the cam. My 2 cents.

A little walk around video? Here goes:

Funny because I've never owned a big block anything, not that avoided big blocks, it just happened so. The 73 Charger was a 318 (later a 360), a 77 Formula with an Olds 403, a 71 Nova with a straight six, a 65 Impala with a 283 and now the Satellite with the 318... I guess I wouldn't mind a 440...

Such cool pictures, those must have been great times!

A true Mopar fanatic I see. Winters are brutal here too, Nevada was a long time ago and no more vintage classic daily driver anymore, the Satellite doesn't go out between December and March. I'd really like a mid 70's Dodge Adventurer Club cab or even a D150 but I couldn't bear wasting it on...

I thought you might enjoy some pictures of my regretted daily driver: a 1973 Dodge Charger in the desert near Pyramid Lake, back when I lived in Nevada:

A little late reply but, wow, you got a nice stable indeed! So many ponies, so little time lol.

I guess I got lucky to find mine at a decent price thanks to a coworker some 5 years ago. It was totally unexpected and I too thought I was priced out of the 68-70 B Bodies, I was more considering A Bodies or some unloved 3rd generation Charger. I can appreciate other underdogs such as early...

"Omaha Orange", you're right! I was convinced it was "Vitamin C Orange" but that must be it. Its original color was F5 green though.
