Saw one of these come up for sale but it is looks nothing of what the brochure you posted is indicating. Non the less I haven't heard of them before. Thanks for replying.
Poking around the internet looking at this or that, I have come across a 71 demon "Sizzler" never heard of this marketing of the demon before but I think I have seen the hood decal less the Sizzler logo?. Curiosity kind of got me can any of the members here shed some light on the car. Thanks
A little longer rip today and when I went to shut her down she hinted a little run on. Could this be a timing or fuel adjustment, this engine still has the solenoid for I believe this type of situation and was working ...awhile back.(lots of decayed wiring in this car) but is now appearing not...
Last night me and my boy decided to spend some time on tweaking things. We went back to point "A" and set #1 to 10° BTDC and then popped the dist cap and decided to rotate the drive gear one more tooth. Re adjust the plug wires to the #1 position, made note of the rotor position, vacuum advance...
I think my conclusion would be that the chain and sprockets had enough play to affect the timing. When I took a closer look at the sprockets you can see a big difference in the valley as well as the top off the tooth. As for the chain it was pretty sloppy if you did a side to side movement as...
Well thought I would just update things here as I left it unfinished in mid July.I did install the new double roller timing chain and thought that would be it until we return. As things go it is unfinished business and I couldn't really leave it, at least not all together. So put it all back...
Wow what a trip, way to much to look at and for sure not enough time to take it all in, arrived here in Halifax today. Take a day or so to get the jist of things and go from there. A long drive but well worth it..
Jason when I get back will for sure get in touch with you. I definitely am interested in knowing more about what we have or don't have and if possible some detailed pictures from yours if that is ok.We are supposed to be in Radium BC for their show on the 25th of Sept, but looks like it may not...
Well I think I will close this thread and thank you all once again for your help. Tonight I put on a new chain drive and also fabricated a missing oil drip tang and still looks to me like I am at the point of where I was a week or so back. Going to button things up tomorrow and hopefully get it...
Wife and I are on our way to Halifax for some family business (her side). We are leaving on July 20th.This will be my 1st time to the east coast. One thing I would like to bring back to Alberta on our return is 1 -2 lobster traps (1/2 rounds?) for our house. We are bringing our truck which is a...
Thanks Bill for the additional timing info.Think I will run into the city tomorrow and have a chat with the speed shop boys and see what we can come up with. Sure like to get it running before we go away. I do have the oil slinger for it and also I looked for the oiling hole and it looks like...
Going to put it all back together today and see where it goes. Just have today and tomorrow to play with it then it will have to wait until I get back from the east coast.
Thanks guys for your help and suggestions. Got the boy to do the back and fourth on the crank while I watched the rotor.I think the root of the problem is the chain as the rotor did not move until he actually moved the piston downward. It also looked at about 10° after is when the rotor actually...
