do you have timing tape on your harmonic balancer or an after market one that's marked? if not, you need to. 34-36 total would be a good place to start with the 509 cam & 12-15 initial(at idle).

as said before the the earlier OD trans were the ones that had alot of problems.this was corrected around 98-99.

i don't think you you will gain anything with only a .508 lift.i would think if you had more than a .550 lift than it may be worth it.
