I did nothing to the idle circuit. It didn’t go up much 13.8 to 14. When it warms up the idle goes up about 100 rpm or so. I think I was reading the gauge a little early at first.

Timing is 22 initial and 34 total and 50 at cruise. HSAB are .032. Total timing is at about 3000. Emulsions are .026 top, .026 bottom and the middle is blocked. Jets are 78 and 86. Air bleeds, channel restrictors , emulsion jets are all replaceable. Thanks everyone.

Speed pro h116cp are duplicate weight. They should give you about 9.5 to 1 with stock type heads. Just food for thought. Mine were within 7 grams of the stock pistons so I didn’t balance. Engine ran smooth. The ex 268 is a great street cam.

I use NGK heat range 6 with 100 shot of nitrous or n/a. Plugs are always clean. If I go to a 150 shot I change to a number 7 non extended tip. Never had a bad NGK.
When I was young and broke, I would put used lifters on a new cam. Never lost a cam. No break in either. Start and idle then go. What the hell has changed so much.
