    741 is plenty strong, especially for a street driven vehicle. It is bigger than a stock 9" ford.

    Tapered axles aren't that bad.. you have to have a tool for pulling the flange off is all (The tool is cheap).. The 741 is the "Weakest"...

    741 is the weakest Diff. on an 8 3/4. 742 or 489 or stonger.
