Posted my 65 Dart 2dr Hardtop for sale last week.. The trans linkage is now fixed and operational. Please see my ad approx. 15 spaces down from this. $2750.00 obo.

NICE DRIVER QUALITY 65 DART HARDTOP. 105185 orig. miles. 225/904. Motor re-built in 2012. Bored .030 over, block decked .010, crank turned .010 and balanced. Head shaved .020, hardened seats, 3 angle valve job. Starts right up and runs smooth (see photo of water glass on running motor)...

Problem is solved. Replaced with extra ammeter. Thanks everyone.

Thanks for the responses. Yes, insulating washers are present. I have power into amp meter with Red wire, when I connect the Black I have sparks at battery post and no power to fuse block. There is no logical reason why a problem could have developed with the ammeter but I will replace it...

Removed the instrument cluster and carefully repaired some small issues with the board and put in a diff/used fuel gauge. Carefully re-installed cluster/dash and now I have a short in the system. When I hook up the battery it sparks and sizzles, no lights no ign. I loosened the dash/cluster...

It was the clown I purchased the dart from. He had the motor/trans done by a pro but he did the carb etc. on his own. I had to chase down a lot of gremlins but the car is pretty sweet for what I paid.

I took apart the carb and found that the shop that had rebuilt it neglected to re-install a check ball. problem solved, now I can reach in the window and turn the key. INSTANT START!!

Yes it is tight. A local old time mechanic told me to just exchange the carb for another, he can't figure it out either.

I put in about 2 oz of fuel and it fires INSTANTLY!. Runs so smooth you can put a glass of water on the valve cover.

No smoke. Kinda weird. I am in my sixties and have build carbs since I was a high school kid, don't recall any issue like this. The fuel bowl is full and it has a new accelerator pump
