    46rh od/lu not disengaging

I had the pressure switches mounted to a small bracket, and that bracket was mounted to the transmission pan. The switches were connected directly to two ports on a brass T fitting, with the 3rd port on the fitting going up to the governor test port on the transmission. The wiring was run into...

    46rh od/lu not disengaging

With properly functioning / properly calibrated pressure switches the OD disengagement speed is 5 - 7 mph below the engagement speed.

    46rh od/lu not disengaging

You could do that and I'm sure it will work, but it feels like a band-aid. I really think you should get a couple of adjustable pressure switches and get rid of that wonky timer setup. You can then dial in your OD and LU points exactly where you want them. That setup worked great for me until I...

    46rh od/lu not disengaging

I don't think the issue is the vacuum switch, it seems to be cutting power when its supposed to. I think it's the hydraulic pressure switches. They are supposed to close the circuit at a set pressure then open the circuit once it drops below a certain point. For example, close the circuit at 45...

    46rh od/lu not disengaging

I'm not sure you can say for sure that 46 psi is 46 mph. There are too many other variables, like your rear gear, torque converter stall, tolerances in the transmission itself, etc. Your switches might be defective, or the pressure might not be getting low enough to open the circuit. I used...

Automatic Shifter | Center Console Lighting

The black plug is just the bulb holder. It sounds like you might be missing that metal piece. Here's a pic from an eBay listing that shows what it would look like: 1967-76 Mopar A Body Console & Shifter Trim Plate Automatic Floor Shift Bracket | eBay

Automatic Shifter | Center Console Lighting

Slight correction, I used something more like this. Exact same idea, though: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B073WVRDVY?tag=fabo03-20 I don't have the carpet on my console right now so I was able to get a pic: Never mind all that extra wiring in there, I have cruise control buttons and an OD button...

Automatic Shifter | Center Console Lighting

I'm pretty sure I used one of these: Dorman 85814 Electrical Sockets - 2-Wire License, Side Marker, Frames - Amazon Canada The bulb end is rubber so it can be stuffed into the hole pretty easily. I think I spiced it into the radio light wiring and used a green LED 194 style lamp.

    AFR MOPAR 340 HEAD TEST!

Naw man, you don't have a set of $1600 J heads. You only paid $1000 for the Edelbrocks, which are worth $2100. So that $1100 savings comes off the price of your J heads making them just $500. Car guy math at its finest!

Torque Converter Blackmagic "is it stalling me out"

From the 1996 FSM. It says the lockup is controlled by the PCM, but doesn't say anything about a relay: Also from the 96 manual. Interesting it doesn't mention the brake switch as something that determines TCC engagement, but I'm pretty sure that's just an oversight: Here's something...

Torque Converter Blackmagic "is it stalling me out"

Incidentally, I have 94, 95, 96, 98, and 2001 Ram manuals in PDF format. If anybody wants one I'd be happy to make it available, but they're 70 mb - 110 mb, so I would need you to give me a way to send it to you since they're way too big for email.

Torque Converter Blackmagic "is it stalling me out"

For sure there's no OD or lockup relay on the RH trucks. I went through the 94 FSM with a fine toothed comb when I rewired my car a couple years back. Just to be sure they didn't add one in 95, I just checked the 95 manual: And this page from the 1995 EWD confirms there's no relay. Kind of...

Torque Converter Blackmagic "is it stalling me out"

I can confirm Bobzilla's comments about the brake switch disengaging lockup in OBD1 trucks. Lifting off the throttle will do it too, as well as any time you press the OD button to turn off or turn on OD (but that's just because it doesn't want to shift into or out of OD with the converter...

Torque Converter Blackmagic "is it stalling me out"

I'm not sure if the tight converter is your issue, but I can tell you I have a ~2500 stall torque converter behind a 46rh, and it's fantastic. Running a 3.73 gear with a 26 inch tire, so probably pretty close to your RPM range. I can be cruising along at 1500 rpm in 4th gear (45 mph) and when I...
