Update: works well enough that the old girl fired right up and idled! (After I found and reconnected a disconnected wire.) Last ran 5 years ago per previous owner. Been off the road 15 years, so brakes are next after I do an oil change and add some coolant.

Well, we're not going to find out if it would have sealed since I cracked a fuel passage installing one of the aluminum plugs :BangHead:
So now I get to try and refurbish the air horn off of the original carb, which is not in quite as good of shape...
I'm rebuilding the Thermoquad from my '72 Duster 340, and the the air horn casting in the primary fuel well (not sure what to call this) seems to be in rough shape on both sides. Do y'all think this will seal? I hit it really lightly with a sanding block just to bring up the highlights so that...
