Hi all. I have a rebuilt 904 which has the early 18 spline input shaft. What sort of power is the smaller shaft good for. Wondering if it’s worth the effort to change to the later 27 spline? 318 that makes roughly 400 HP. Street cruiser. Will the 18 spline input shaft be the weakest link? Or...

Thanks. As the shafts are different diameter I believe I will need pump as well? Pretty much front assembly, pump, shaft and drum.

Thanks for the input. I did a quick search on fitting the A500 to a 67 Barracuda and it requires tunnel massaging and a different cross member which I really don't want to get into.

Thanks for your replies. The issue is also limited converter selection with the smaller input shaft. Converters to suit the 27 spline input shaft are common. I did a quick google and couldn’t see any for the smaller 18 spline input shaft.

T Thanks for that. I might try and restore my current emblem or look at fitting a smaller fender type. I had to drill the back rivets to remove it. I could use som3 3M adhesive or the like to re-attach.

Can someone please advise if you can buy 67 Plymouth barracuda trunk trim “Barracuda” emblem. Goes on the trim that is in the middle of the trunk on the right hand side. It’s larger than what goes on the fenders. I can only see aftermarket fender emblems that look like this. See attached.

Has anyone replaced the metal square grill insert mesh on a 67 Barracuda with either a plastic generic type mesh or something from another car cut down? I would like to remove the parker / flasher light from this piece but would leave a hole where it was.

No. Stock rods resized with new bolts about $400 or so. New rods $400. Thanks. I am sorted.

At least 100 grams lighter each I think. That was also a factor in my decision to purchase the aftermarket rod. Worked out cheaper as well.
