    Brake switch problem

    All helpful suggestions, thanks. I found an NOS switch / bracket assembly on eBay (see foto). No 'wobble' at all where switch is mounted on the bracket! Switch lines up perfectly with the brake pedal lever. Problem solved! Here's my theory . . . if your '64 Valiant needed a new brake switch...

    Thanks for welcoming me to the site! I am the adoring owner of a 1953 Plymouth Cambridge, and, as of last October, a 1964 Valiant Signet convertible. I am looking forward to learning all about the A-bodies, and benefitting from the expertise of the other members here. I live in northwest Ohio.

    Brake switch problem

    This thread is for anybody who has dealt with an A-body brake switch. I have a '64 Valiant. The OEM brake switch comes mounted in a perpendicular-bent flange that bolts to a mounting under the dash. The on-off button on the switch is supposed to 'line up' with the lever attached to the brake...

    Gear shift knob

    I am looking to replace the stock gear shift knob with a custom knob. The original knob is on there pretty tight! Question #1 -- is the stock knob threaded on the lever, as in most cars I've ever dealt with? Thanks!
