    That was great. I found the issue. I'm missing the return spring for the linkage, so the kickdown was never fully pulled forward it was just in between. The spring should fix the problem. Thanks

    It is mechanical. What does shortening mean? Putting it closer to carb thottle linkage? I'll try and take a look at the service manual.

    No need for baffles. There is noise regulation on something that old. And if I register it as an Antique I shouldn't have to get an inspection. I know that this not a 'A' Body. haha

    Thanks, for all the replies. I have set it up the electromechanical way and found out the reason why the regulator was smoking was because it wasn't grounded.
