Been a while since my last update. In January I decided to tackle the worst lower quarter. Got part way through then ended up selling and buying a new (to me)house so I have been pretty busy. I finally got the quarter in epoxy so I am able to safely drive it. I am not sure if I am going to wait...
Oh ok sorry about that I was thinking you were wanting advice and just didn't want to steer you in the wrong direction, not new to cars but fairly green to modifying them beyond simple bolt on mods. So for now I'm running 4.5" bs with a .25" spacer. Eventually I'll get the correct bs wheels. It...
I did a lot of research on here and elsewhere on the internet. I got it a tad wrong though ended up using .25" spacer for now. The tires are 275t60r15s. On most duster style bodies with 8" wide rims they will fit snuggly with 4.5" backspace if you have an 8.75" axel and 4.25" backspace for a...
Well I was able to finally get some more work done on the car. All that is left to do is take it for a test drive. And make sure everything stays clear.
Well life has gotten pretty busy, but finally got a little time to work on the axle swap. I was able to get the old one out and the new partially in. Just before wrapping up for the night I threw a tire on and jacked it up by the pumkin to put weight on the suspension. I really like how its...
So it looks like I messed up on the backspacing then. I bought 4.5 instead of 4.25. I'll probably throw some .25" spacers as suggested in a previous reply until I can get a need set of rims.
Thanks for the help guys!
Thanks for all of the replies. I guess I didn't realize that the 8.25 was a different length than the 8.75. So I guess I'll get it in the car and see if I have room for a small spacer until I get around to getting the correct rims. If not I guess I'll have to relocate the springs or go with a...
So I had done a lot of research and kept coming up that a p275/60R15s fit on a stock Duster on 15x8 rims with 4.5 backspace. So I bit the bullet and purchased a set for a rear end I'm swapping into my Duster. This rear came out of a 74 factory 318 Duster. When I mounted the Wheels to the rear...
