    PATINA

Patina…..I love it. Not the fake kind, the “I’ve been loved, driven, and put away wet at times, but I’m still here and ready for action. I’ve done restorations, but with the price of everything now, I prefer preservations. I don’t have to worry about leaning on the RR, I don’t have to worry...

Tire shop over torqued lug nuts (1969 Dart). Should I redo it?

I use a 4 way. I spin it with the tire up in the air until it bump stops, do all 4 and get the car back on the ground, then go around and tighten them to about 60 with my Armstrong 4 way. After 40 years and hundreds, no wait, 1000’s of tire changes, I know exactly how much to tighten them. Now...

Who's the idiot that deleted rear bumpers on new cars??

The only new vehicle I ever bought was an S10 pickup, way back when. It came with no rear bumper, and I got pulled over for that. The cop insisted that the truck came with a bumper and was going to write me a ticket. Not sure how I got out of that except for the fact that rear bumpers were...

Classic car people that make you CRAZY!??

If they have the damn car, they should know what it’s worth. It’s the flippers that buy something for a song and then turn it to gold when they go to sell it. My case in point….. I bought this from a flipper, he bought it from the original owner, an 82 year old man. He paid $300, I bought it...

What would you do if you had an extra house laying around?

There are a lot of variables in play here, and you will get a lot of different answers. My personal take….. I’m in the trades, and I can do plumbing, electrical, HVAC and all of the other things that house needs to be finished. If it were mine I would do all that and sell it as a move in ready...

    1965 Barracuda carpet installation

That piece is for the “Formula S” cars, that cutout on the top is for the 14x5.5” spare. I’ll bet your fold down rear panel also has that same cutout. There is also one that goes straight across for non formula cars that didn’t come with 5.5” rims. That’s a cool piece, you should be repopping that.

    1965 Barracuda carpet installation

Those are not being reproduced. And the other piece that most of these cars chew through is the fiberboard cover that covers the underside holes on the trunk lid, or the wiggle clips with the big button head that holds it on.

Alert: Facebook site stealing FABO for sale pics: Howelle’s Mopar Junkard

the name “Howelle” is widely known on FB as a scammer. They have so many shell businesses that get struck down daily. I know Keith 66340sedan has his hands full with his Scammers group there, just keeping up with their constant changes in name.

273 Commando Spark Plug Wire Options?

I buy all my wires at Firecore. Rick is a big Mopar guy, and his wires are 2nd to none. For small blocks I get the 7mm “340” replica wires. They fit right into the insulators of the commando valve covers. Rick did steer me to the 8mm wires for my plow truck due to the fact that it has an MSD...

    What does it cost?

The best part about helping yoing guns on their way is seeing them get their projects where they want them, and knowing and hoping you helped in some way. There’s a couple of young guns here that I’ve helped, and watched grow into fine Mopar folks that are now flying on their own wings, or...

    What does it cost?

Here is a young gun I met at the Make-a-Wish show this summer. He inherited his Dads car, got it running and drove it to the show. We talked a good 15 minutes, because he has the same mindset as he does. Get it running, drive it and enjoy it in honor of his Dad. I voted for his car as best of...

    What does it cost?

When I get a car, I have a plan on what I want to do with it. Not to say money is no object, but I spend what the car needs according to my plan for it. Even if it’s just to get it to a stage that I can pass it along to the next person who might really want it. My goal as a “flipper” was always...
